He received Olympic-style Tae Kwon Do training from Cuban Sports Federation. Jose learned different techniques of Tae Kwon Do by practicing with his peers and trainers.
After shifting to the United States of America in 2004, he tried hands in various businesses. In February 2005, he joined Lifetime Fitness, a Centreville, VA based renowned health and fitness center. In this fitness club, he helped numerous client types to complete their health related goals. He worked at Lifetime Fitness till April 2007. In September 2013, he started working at Armani Exchange as an Assistant Manager. In this company, he organized weekly sales reports for the sales department to track product success. For his excellent performance, he won Top Seller award for two consecutive quarters.
